Bali, September 28, 2025 – OceanHero is once again promoting the Cleaner Bali movement for the sustainable Bali through a canoe cleanup activity in the Wana Segara Kertih area. This action is a concrete step in maintaining the cleanliness of Bali’s seas and coastline, while also encouraging the wider community to play an active role in preserving the environment.
This activity involved volunteers and local communities who worked together to use canoes to reach trash in mangrove areas that are difficult to access from land. The action resulted in the collection of single-use plastic waste, beverage bottles, and discarded fishing nets that had been polluting the marine ecosystem. These findings emphasize the importance of collective action to address waste issues, especially in waterways.
Maintaining sustainable Bali
OceanHero program director Yudi Suarbawa said that the Canoe Cleanup at Wana Segara Kertih is part of a series of follow-up activities that will eventually cover all districts in Bali.
“By using canoes, we can reach areas that are difficult to access, especially trash that is trapped in mangroves. Hopefully, the community will become more aware that keeping the sea clean is everyone’s responsibility,” he said.
Not only stopping at clean-up actions, the #BaliLebihBersih campaign also presents environmental education programs aimed at the community, schools, and especially young people. This program aims to instill environmentally friendly habits from an early age, including sorting organic and inorganic waste.

Through a combination of concrete actions and education, OceanHero hopes that this movement will have a lasting impact. The active participation of the public and communities in clean-up activities is proof that the collective spirit to protect Bali is growing. In addition, cooperation with local groups also strengthens the sense of ownership and responsibility for environmental cleanliness.
Looking ahead, OceanHero is committed to expanding the reach of this initiative to all districts in Bali. With the support of all parties, #BaliLebihBersih is expected to become both an inspiration and a real solution in addressing the increasingly urgent issue of marine debris.
